The Ace Hotel and Swim Club

Ace_HotelThe Mid-Century Modern style of The Ace Hotel and Swim Club is a far cry from the motel it used to be. The new digs have hit a home run in Palm Springs, a very welcomed addition to the accommodation scene. The hotel inspires thoughts of a 1950’s beach party. You almost expect Troy Donahue and Moon Doggie to appear poolside, and of course Gidget too for good measure. But The Ace Hotel is more than a blast from the past; it has modern amenities to suit the most discerning traveler, complete with relaxing Spa treatments. The Ace is also ultra modern, as it has gone “Green”, using a great deal of organic materials in parts of the hotel. You can even bring your pretty pooch, as The Ace is pet accepting with dog friendly patio guest rooms. And their Kings Hideaway restaurant with adjacent lounge, which used to be Denny’s, will not make you miss Moons-Over-My-Hammy in the least. So come take a dip in the pool at The Ace and stay awhile, because you never know when the next Clam Bake might break out!

Alcazar Palm Springs

PepperTreeThe Alcazar Palm Springs was formely the Pepper Tree Inn, named for the large Pepper Tree that used to grace the property, The Pepper Tree Inn was built in the 1950’s as a cool little Inn to suit the hip Palm Springs crowd. However, in the 1990’s the Inn fell on hard times and most of the Inn was torn down in 2000, but re-built anew in 2003, with a couple of original parts of the building left, mostly in room 37. A fountain now stands where the namesake Pepper Tree once grew, and the now the name has changed too. The quaint little Inn is now the Alcazar Palm Springs , which is ajacent to Cheeky’s and Birba restaurants that sit around the corner from it. No matter what its name is, it still holds the charm of years gone by and continues to cater to today’s hip Palm Springs crowd.
